Drivers who use Deerfield Road between Goshen and Miami townships will need to find another way around starting Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Clermont County Engineer Jeremy Evans' office said the road will close near 5867 Deerfield Road for three days so a contractor can connect a new water line to the existing main. The road is scheduled to reopen Thursday, Nov. 5, according to the Clermont Guardian.
The project is listed as a "Watermain Connection Project" on the engineer's office online road-closure list. The closure sits along the township line separating Goshen and Miami townships.
Detour adds nearly 8 miles
A posted detour covering about 7.75 miles will carry traffic around the work zone for the full three days. A detour map released by the engineer's office spells out the route: drivers heading north will use Winwood Drive, while southbound traffic will follow Cedarville Road and Baas Road. Both paths skirt the edge of Stonelick Township before reconnecting with Deerfield Road on the other side of the closure.
The engineer's office announced the closure on its Facebook page and on X on Oct. 20.
More road work in the area
The Deerfield Road project adds to a stretch of county road work near Milford. As we reported Oct. 19, Dry Run Road and Branch Hill-Miamiville Road in Miami Township are also closed for separate county projects running into November.
Between the three closures, drivers in the Goshen and Miami Township corridor should expect longer commutes and plan alternate routes well before pulling out of the driveway.
Evans' office posts a running list of active and upcoming road closures to its website and Facebook page. Deerfield Road is scheduled to reopen Nov. 5.
