Loveland's boys cross country team won the Division II Southwest regional championship on Saturday, Oct. 31, the first regional title in program history.

The Tigers scored 80 points at Troy High School to claim the crown, the Columbus Dispatch reported. Ian Trombley led Loveland with a third-place individual finish. Turpin placed second as a team with 91 points.

The girls squad punched its ticket, too. Loveland finished sixth in the Division II girls race, qualifying for state as a team, the program's cross country account posted on X. Anna Feeney, Lauren Saletta, Isabela Fronk, Lilly Gutekunst, Kali Rodriguez, Emma Todd and Abby Droessler ran for the Tigers.

Both teams now head to Fortress Obetz for the OHSAA state championship meet.

The boys' leap stands out. In 2024, Loveland's boys finished seventh at regionals. Two seasons later, they own the regional title. A Loveland athletics account on X called it school history.

The Cincinnati Enquirer named the Loveland boys cross country team its Oct. 30 Fall Team of the Week after the Tigers won their Division II district race with 43 team points.
