The Eastside Chocolate Walk returns to downtown Milford on Oct. 24 with 220 tickets available and more than 30 stops along Main Street.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Ticket holders collect a chocolate treat at each participating location, according to the Clermont Guardian. Check-in closes at 2 p.m., and organizers recommend arriving no later than 1 p.m. to have enough time to visit every stop.
The 220-ticket cap is no joke. The 2024 walk sold out in less than two days and drew 54 participating businesses, according to a year-end recap from the Milford-Miami Township Chamber.
Tickets are shareable, meaning groups can split one and walk together. Each ticket entitles the holder to one treat per location, regardless of group size, according to the event website.
The walk is organized by the Eastside Business Alliance, a Milford-based nonprofit. Shoppers who enter the code PROMONT at checkout get $1 off their ticket, and the alliance will donate $5 per ticket sold with that code to the historical society, the Guardian reported.
Proceeds support the society's preservation work at Promont, the Italianate Victorian mansion at 906 Main St. that once served as the home of John M. Pattison, Ohio's 43rd governor. Already weakened by illness at the time of his 1906 inauguration, Pattison governed from Promont and died there that June. The home has operated as a house museum since 1983.
Downtown Milford is a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), so visitors may carry approved DORA beverages within the district and into shops that permit them. Restaurants along the route plan to offer chocolate-themed drinks during the event, according to the event website.
Singers from the Clermont Chorale will perform at the Coldwell Banker building at 125 Main St. during the walk.
