Symmes Township trustees meet Friday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m. to discuss the 2027 budget and how to pay off debt on the new administration building.

The special meeting at 9323 Union Cemetery Road carries five new-business items, according to a township notice posted Sept. 16 and signed by Fiscal Officer Joseph C. Grossi. The three-member board of trustees, Phil Beck, Kenneth N. Bryant and Jodie Leis, will take up each item in a session open to the public.

The headlining topics are the 2027 budget, renovations to the new administration building and funding sources for those renovations. A separate agenda item covers what the notice calls "investment options for paying off the new building debt."

All five items are new business.

Trustees will also consider Resolution G2026-68, which addresses nuisance and false alarm assessments for 2026. A final agenda item asks whether the board should use formal resolutions or motions for future actions.

Trustees have discussed the building's finances since at least June. At a June 17 special meeting, the board considered Resolution G2026-48, which would have authorized up to $2.5 million in bond anticipation notes for building acquisition and improvements.

That same June 17 agenda included Resolution G2026-49, authorizing the township administrator to execute a purchase contract. The resolution passed, according to the minutes from the meeting.

The township's Finance and Audit Committee met Aug. 26 for a financial update and early discussion of the 2027 budget, setting the stage for Friday's broader session with all three trustees.

Symmes Township is governed by the three elected trustees and a fiscal officer, all serving four-year terms. The meeting takes place at the Township Administration Building, 9323 Union Cemetery Road, Loveland, OH 45140.
