Anderson quarterback Owen Scalf went 17-for-17 for 372 yards and five touchdowns Friday, Oct. 23, breaking the Raptors' career touchdown pass record in a 69-7 rout at Loveland. The loss ended the Tigers' season at 2-8.
Scalf's five scoring throws gave him 87 career touchdown passes, surpassing the program mark of 85 set by former Anderson quarterback Justice Burnam, WCPO's Mike Dyer reported. Both totals rank on the Ohio High School Athletic Association's (OHSAA) state record list.
Scalf has 8,636 career passing yards, leaving him 78 yards from tying the Anderson record held by his brother, 2023 graduate Griffin Scalf. The Scalf brothers both appear on the OHSAA state record list for career passing yards.
Anderson coach Evan Dreyer said Scalf "is raising the standard of how to play quarterback at Anderson High School."
Loveland overwhelmed early
The Tigers trailed 55-0 at halftime, according to MaxPreps. Loveland managed a second-half score but could not slow an Anderson offense that averaged 55.3 points per game this season, an Eastern Cincinnati Conference and school record, according to the program.
Scalf was not the only Raptor who dominated. Jordan Davis collected 173 total yards and four touchdowns, and Cooper Kathman added 109 receiving yards and a score, per MaxPreps.
The loss extended Loveland's losing streak to four games. The Tigers finish the 2026 regular season 2-8.
Anderson locks up ECC title, playoff bye
The win clinched the outright ECC championship for Anderson, which improved to 9-1. The Raptors are the No. 1 seed in Division II, Region 8 and have a first-round bye on Oct. 30.
The Raptors have been the Division II state runner-up the past two seasons. WLWT's Blitz 5 final rankings slotted Anderson at No. 3 in the area heading into the postseason.
Anderson will host the winner of Withrow (7-3) and Badin (7-3) in a regional quarterfinal on Nov. 6.
