Clermont County commissioners plan to launch the bidding process for a sewer lift station upgrade in Miami Township when they meet Wednesday, Oct. 28.

The board is set to adopt a resolution declaring its intent to improve the Orchard Valley Lift Station and to advertise for construction bids, according to the Clermont Guardian. The county’s 2025 wastewater capital improvement plan, PDF page 44, lists $1,537,210 in total planned costs, including $1.4 million for construction.

If commissioners approve the request, a nonmandatory pre-bid meeting would be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 3, and sealed bids would be accepted until 2 p.m. Dec. 10 at the commissioners’ office, 101 E. Main St. in Batavia, where they would be publicly opened and read aloud.

The lift station project is one of several infrastructure items on the Oct. 28 agenda. Commissioners are also expected to approve the release of water main extension bonds in Miami, Union and Batavia townships, and to authorize the county engineer to convert performance-maintenance bonds for subdivisions in Goshen, Pierce and Union townships.

The sewer work comes as the county continues investing in wastewater infrastructure across the region. In August, commissioners considered seeking a $1 million state loan toward a $78.5 million expansion of the Lower East Fork Wastewater Treatment Plant, also in Miami Township, according to a separate Clermont Guardian report. Whether the Orchard Valley project is connected to that larger effort is unclear.

Beyond sewer work, the Wednesday agenda includes a $198,525 contract with Calvin Electric LLC to replace audiovisual systems in four courtrooms at the Clermont County Municipal Court. The board also plans to renew its food service contract with Summit Food Service LLC for another 12 months at the Clermont County Adult and Juvenile Detention Facilities.

Commissioners are expected to approve $436,500 in supplemental appropriations for 2026, including $300,000 for facilities management, $110,000 for sheriff's fleet maintenance, $23,000 in FEMA-related expenses and $3,500 for municipal court fringe benefits, according to the agenda.

The meeting begins at 10 a.m. at the county administration building, 101 E. Main St. in Batavia.
