In Clermont County alone, Taylor defeated Mazzuckelli 54,879 to 33,196, the Clermont Guardian reported. The Guardian projected Taylor won the district with all 738 precincts reporting.
The result matters to Loveland-area residents. The 2nd District covers parts of Loveland and stretches across much of eastern and southern Ohio, including portions of the Cincinnati region, according to Loveland Daily News. Congressional districts were redrawn in 2025, and Loveland is now split between the 1st and 2nd Districts. Which race appeared on a voter's ballot depended on their address.
Taylor, a Clermont County resident, serves on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, where he is vice chairman of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee, according to his congressional office.
The Ohio Secretary of State must still certify the final results. Clermont County reported 90,233 ballots cast out of 150,008 registered voters, with 45 outstanding absentee ballots and 1,357 provisional ballots yet to be counted, according to the Clermont Guardian.
