Loveland City Schools introduced at least three new teachers on social media on Aug. 7 and Aug. 8, putting names to the classroom hires families will meet when the 2026-27 school year opens five days from now.

Among the new faces: Abigail Palmer, a University of Cincinnati graduate from Oaklawn, Ohio, who will teach 7th-grade Social Studies at Loveland Middle School. The school serves about 624 students in grades 7-8.

"I'm excited to be joining Loveland City School District because of the academic community and joyful atmosphere," Palmer said in her introductory profile posted Aug. 8.

Leona Messer will join Loveland Intermediate School, which serves grades 4-6 and enrolls roughly 643 students. Abbey Loree is headed to Loveland Early Childhood Center. The district has not publicly detailed their grade levels or subject areas.

All five board members voted yes.

The hires are part of a broader staffing package the Loveland Board of Education approved unanimously at its June 23 business meeting. Resolution No. 26-120 covered resignations and new employment across certified, classified and supplemental positions for the coming year. Board members the Rev. Eilert, Mrs. Jeranek, Mrs. Mangan, Mrs. Schuckman and Dr. Schwetschenau supported the motion.

The introductions come as Loveland's roughly 4,041 students prepare for a staggered opening. Students with last names A-L report Thursday, Aug. 13; those with last names M-Z follow Friday, Aug. 14, according to Fox 19.

Campuses are already active. The district's spirit club held a pickleball tournament the week of Aug. 4, with Kyle Harden and Brendon Salm taking the title.

The district has not announced how many total new teachers it hired for the fall or whether additional introductions are forthcoming. Families can watch for more profiles on the district's social media channels before classes begin Aug. 13.
