Two Milford-area property owners will ask the Miami Township Board of Zoning Appeals for zoning variances at a public hearing at 7 p.m. Sept. 2 at the township offices, 6101 Meijer Drive in Milford.
One case involves a structure already standing taller than code allows. The other would clear the way for a new business in Branch Hill.
Daniel Booso of 1239 Day Circle is requesting a 5-foot variance from the maximum permitted height for an accessory structure that has already been built and exceeds the township's limit (Case #1081). The township's public notice does not identify the structure's use or state the baseline height cap, only that the existing building needs retroactive approval to remain at its current height.
Matt Brennan of 368 Bridge Street is seeking multiple variances for a new business in Branch Hill (Case #1083). Branch Hill is an unincorporated community within Miami Township, Clermont County, situated along the Little Miami River near Loveland. The notice does not specify the type of business Brennan proposes or which zoning standards require relief.
Both hearings are open to the public.
The BZA has met the first Wednesday of each month in 2026, with hearings in February, March, April, May and July producing decisions on accessory-structure size variances, setback variances, outdoor storage variances and a nonconforming parking-lot extension. The board's decisions on the Sept. 2 cases will be posted on the township's public notice page after the hearing.
Residents who want to learn more before the hearing or submit comments can contact Allison Bahr, the township planner, at (513) 248-3731, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Case documents are available through the Community Development Department at the same number.
