Two Loveland residents face felony drug charges after a Warren County grand jury handed down indictments Aug. 21.

Jerome Lattawke Neal, 38, of Loveland, was indicted on one count of aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. The charge stems from an incident May 23 in Hamilton Township, according to the Warren County Prosecutor's Office. The indictment does not identify the specific substance involved.

Luca Michael Cangiano, 18, of Loveland, was indicted on one count of possession of cocaine, also a fifth-degree felony. He also faces four counts of operating a vehicle under the influence, each a first-degree misdemeanor.

The charges allege Cangiano operated a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and possessed cocaine on April 13 in Hamilton Township. His four OVI counts each allege a different violation under Ohio law, including operating under the influence of alcohol or a drug of abuse and operating with a controlled substance or metabolite in his system.

Both defendants are scheduled for arraignment at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 11, in Warren County Common Pleas Court.

Neal and Cangiano were among 18 defendants indicted in the Aug. 21 batch. Both alleged offenses occurred in Hamilton Township, which borders the Loveland area in Warren County. Neal's case originated in Warren County Court, while Cangiano's was filed as a direct indictment with no lower court case.

Under Ohio law, a fifth-degree felony can carry six to 12 months in prison. A first-degree misdemeanor OVI carries up to 180 days in jail.

The indictments were e-filed Aug. 24,by Breighton Smith, Warren County Clerk of Courts. Warren County Prosecutor David P. Fornshell's office issued the release.
