Whistle Stop Clay Works in downtown Loveland will host a BYOB ceramics workshop on Sept. 19. Participants can hand-build a square-bottomed mug while sipping drinks they bring.
The beginner-friendly session, promoted on the City of Loveland's events calendar, requires no prior ceramics experience. Instructor Joy France walks attendees step by step through the process of shaping what the listing describes as an oversized mug.
Two time slots are available: 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The workshop costs $45 to $50 per person, according to the studio's registration page. Participants must be 18 or older.
The studio supplies clay, tools and instruction. Attendees supply their own cocktails.
Finished mugs will be fired and ready for pickup in two to three weeks.
The workshop is part of a recurring Clay & Cocktails series at the Harrison Ave. studio. A July 25 session featured a woodland vase project in the same BYOB format.
Whistle Stop Clay Works is located at 119 Harrison Ave. in Loveland's historic downtown district. The studio is open Saturdays for classes and private events and can be reached at 513-683-2529. Registration is available through the Whistle Stop Clay Works website.
