With Loveland's 180-day short-term rental moratorium set to expire in early September and a comprehensive zoning code rewrite freshly on the books, the city's Law and Ordinance Committee will convene Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at 120 W. Loveland Ave.
No agenda has been posted.
Residents can check the city's public meetings portal for materials as the date approaches, or attend in person and watch online through the same site.
The committee, a standing body of City Council, reviews ordinances before they go to the full seven-member council for a vote. Its last scheduled session, on May 27, was canceled and rescheduled to June 3, according to the city's official X account.
The Aug. 27 meeting comes weeks after council approved a sweeping rewrite of Loveland's Planning and Zoning Code at its Aug. 11 session. That ordinance revised zoning definitions, development standards, residential infill rules and the short-term rental registration process, the city said in a Facebook recap. Council had held a public hearing on the proposed rewrite July 28 before voting to adopt it.
The moratorium, approved March 10, paused new short-term rental permits while staff drafted permanent regulations. As we reported Aug. 11, the deadline was already looming when council took up the zoning overhaul. The updated code addressed density provisions tied to those rentals, but whether additional ordinances are needed before the moratorium lapses remains an open question.
The committee reviews proposed ordinances before they reach the full council for a final vote. With the moratorium clock ticking toward September, the Aug. 27 session is listed on the city calendar from 6 to 8 p.m.
