Miami Township trustees will consider two grant applications, a Route 50 nuisance case and a Loveland teen's plan to install safety equipment at a local park when they meet Aug. 18 at the Miami Township Civic Center, 6101 Meijer Drive, Milford.

The meeting agenda lists 17 new business items. Chairperson Ken Tracy will preside, joined by trustees Mary Makley Wolff and Mark C. Schulte.

The official agenda lists an 8 p.m. start time, though a township Facebook post announcing the meeting says 7 p.m. Residents can confirm by calling (513) 248-3725.

Eagle Scout park project

Jude Herron, a Moeller High School senior and member of Troop 55 in Loveland, will present a proposal for his Eagle Scout project at Miami Riverview Park. Herron's plan calls for installing an AED extender, a first aid box and benches for public use.

Grant applications and infrastructure

Township Administrator Steve Kelly will present an Ohio Public Works Commission grant application (Resolution R2026-32) and a separate state capital grant for a community park. The agenda does not identify the specific infrastructure project or park targeted by either application, and no dollar amounts are listed.

Route 50 nuisance case

Community Development Director McCormack will present Resolution R2026-33, a nuisance case on Route 50. The property address and nature of the violation are not specified in the published agenda.

Other business

Police Chief Hirsch will ask trustees to approve ballistic vest replacements for officers. Service Director Burdsall will present 2026-27 salt bid results, a truck bed replacement and road line striping. Fire Chief Jetter will bring proposals for landscaping at Fire Stations 27 and 29 and a network upgrade at Station 26. Kelly will also present a strategic master plan item.

The meeting is open to the public.

The board will vote on bills totaling $1,911,250.03 covering July 16 through Aug. 11, plus two payroll periods totaling $1,243,850.75 in gross wages.

Trustees will also formalize the end of employment for Firefighter/Paramedic Kimberly Ifcic, a separation already effective as of Aug. 7.

Following the business session, trustees will enter executive session under Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G)(8) to discuss confidential information related to an economic development assistance applicant.

The trustees held a work session on Aug. 10, that previewed many of the same items. The full meeting agenda packet is available at miamitwpoh.gov. Residents needing disability accommodations should contact the township at least 72 hours before the meeting.
