Loveland's Evagoras Papasavvas holds the points lead in the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship after rattling off seven consecutive podium finishes to close the first half of the season.

The recent Loveland High School graduate, driving the No. 71 Ligier JS F3 for Crosslink Motorsports, has finished on the podium in eight of the season's first 10 races, including three wins. His results have also pushed Crosslink Motorsports to the top of the Team Championship standings, according to FR Americas standings updated Monday, July 21.

Papasavvas's hottest stretch came over two weekends in June. At his home track, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, he finished second on Saturday, June 13, then won Race 2 on Monday, June 15, in front of family and friends.

"This is absolutely unbelievable," Papasavvas said after the Mid-Ohio win on June 15. "I'm just super proud and happy to do it here in front of my home crowd. My family and friends are here, my sister, Celia — she wanted a specific shoutout for this race, so, Celia there you go."

He had graduated from Loveland High School about a month before that race.

The following weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Papasavvas earned three more podiums in three races. He started Race 1 from the back of the grid and drove through the field to finish second. He added a third-place result in Race 2 and another second-place finish in Race 3.

"Evagoras put together some incredible drives and showed exactly why he's in the championship fight," Crosslink Motorsports team owner Gill Kaszuba said in a June 26 recap of the Indianapolis weekend.

Before Mid-Ohio, Papasavvas had already seized the championship lead at Road America in Wisconsin, where he paired his second win of the season with a runner-up finish.

The second half of the 20-race season opens Friday, July 31, through Sunday, August 2, at New Jersey Motorsports Park, with three races on the schedule. Papasavvas told the Loveland Beacon he has been studying the track on a simulator during the midseason break. New Jersey is one of three circuits he has never raced on; Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in Ontario, Canada (September 3-6) and Virginia International Raceway (September 17-20) are also new to him.

The season finale is set for Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, October 16-18. The championship-winning driver earns a $100,000 prize, according to FR Americas.

Papasavvas joined Crosslink Motorsports for 2026 after competing in the INDY NXT by Firestone program, where he was a podium finisher. Crosslink is an official driver development team for AJ Foyt Racing in the NTT IndyCar Series.
