Eight Milford girls soccer players earned Eastern Cincinnati Conference postseason honors after a season that included a share of the ECC title.
Junior Lindsay Bruce headlined the group, earning ECC Defensive Player of the Year along with a first-team All-ECC selection, according to Milford Athletics. Bruce recorded two shutouts during the week of Aug. 23 against Lakota East and Sycamore, earning an ECC Athlete of the Week nod alongside teammate Maddie Rockey. Later in the season, Bruce made six saves in a scoreless draw with Loveland that helped Milford clinch a share of the conference title.
Three teammates joined Bruce on the All-ECC first team: Kensley Carnes, Lila Patterson and Rockey. Rockey, a junior, scored a game-winning goal against Lakota East on a free kick in the 79th minute during that same late-August stretch.
Kendal Boots, Madison Cartmell and Katie Heller each earned second-team All-ECC recognition. Boots scored the decisive goal in a key conference match against Little Miami. Her coaches described the match as a must-win to keep Milford at the top of the ECC standings. Cartmell was the team's points leader as of her mid-October ECC Athlete of the Week nomination, which highlighted a hat trick against Mercy McAuley.
Senior captain Jocelyn Mefford received honorable mention. Her coaches credited Mefford's consistent back-line play with helping the Eagles reach that number. Mefford also earned an ECC Athlete of the Week nod for the week of Oct. 26.
