A Clermont County grand jury indicted a 24-year-old Ohio Township man on nine felony counts related to child sexual abuse material after sheriff's detectives posed as a teenage girl on Snapchat and he sent explicit images.

Timothy C. Waybright was indicted Thursday, July 16, on eight counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, all second-degree felonies, and one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a fifth-degree felony, according to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office.

The investigation began Tuesday, July 7, when detectives in the sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division received a tip that Waybright possessed child sexual abuse material on his electronic devices and was communicating with underage girls through Snapchat, the department said.

Detectives identified Waybright on the app and began communicating with him while posing as a 14-year-old female. During the conversation, Waybright sent sexually explicit photographs of himself to what he believed was a 14-year-old girl, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies arrested Waybright the next day, Wednesday, July 8, in the 1000 block of Old U.S. 52. He was taken into custody without incident.

After his arrest, Waybright told detectives he obtained child sexual abuse material by "adding random people on Snapchat" and having them send him explicit photographs and videos, the sheriff's office said.

Detectives seized two cell phones and a laptop, which were examined by the sheriff's office S.A.F.E. Unit, a digital forensics lab launched in May. The examination identified numerous files believed to contain child sexual abuse material.

Detectives confirmed that none of the children depicted in the material are believed to be from Clermont County or associated with the residence involved in the investigation. The Clermont County Sheriff's Office is working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to identify the victims.

Waybright was scheduled to appear Friday, July 17, at 10 a.m. in Clermont County Common Pleas Court before Judge Victor Haddad. He was being held in the Clermont County Jail with no bond as of the July 16 announcement.
