A zoning application that could bring large-scale development to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church property on Kenwood Road is heading to a second public hearing August 11 at 5:30 p.m.
The property sits at 7701 Kenwood Road in Sycamore Township, directly across from Kenwood Towne Centre and close to the Symmes Township border. Zoning Case ZC-2026-7 asks the Sycamore Township Board of Trustees to approve a Planned Unit Development Type II designation for the site.
Josh Shaw of The Kleingers Group, LLC filed the application, according to township zoning records. A PUD II designation allows large-scale, mixed-use development where at least one component must be regional in nature. The specific plans for the property have not been made public. Township documents do not specify whether the proposed development would be residential, commercial, or a combination, according to a Village Press report.
Sycamore Township held its first public hearing on the case Tuesday, July 21, at 5:30 p.m. at the Township Administration Building, 8540 Kenwood Road. The full video of that hearing is available at WatchSycamoreTownship.com.
Property owners within 200 feet of 7701 Kenwood Road received mailed hearing notices, as required by Ohio law.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The relationship between the applicant and the church is not stated in available township records.
Residents who want to review the submittal documents for the case can find them online at sycamoretownship.org or in person at the administration building, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Planning & Zoning Department can be reached at (513) 792-7252.
