A truck caught telephone wires and flipped over on Glendale Milford Road early Monday, Oct. 12, closing lanes near Milford for several hours.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. near 70 Glendale Milford Road in Miami Township, according to FOX19. The truck was pulling out of a business when it snagged the wires, tipped over and brought the lines down, Miami Township police told reporters.

The driver was not hurt.

Officials said the driver did not realize the truck had struck the wire before it overturned, Dayton 24/7 Now reported. Miami Township police cited the driver for failing to maintain an assured clear distance, according to FOX19.

A utility pole was knocked down, but the damaged line was a telephone wire, not a power line. Duke Energy responded, and no outages were reported.

The truck belongs to a small, privately owned company, police confirmed. A wrecker arrived around 6:40 a.m. to upright the vehicle. Lanes had reopened by Monday, WLWT reported.
