Milford residents will get a chance to tell a Cincinnati TV news team what's bugging them about their community when WCPO 9 News brings its "Let's Talk" series to town later this month.
The free event takes place Wednesday, July 29, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Cincinnati Distilling, 203 Mill St. in downtown Milford. No registration is required.
WCPO anchors Adrian Whitsett and Frank Marzullo, reporter Jay Shakur, and Clermont County reporter Sam Harasimowicz will be on hand to hear from residents about neighborhood concerns, according to the station's announcement published Tuesday, July 15.
The format is straightforward. Show up, share what's on your mind, and the news team listens. Topics can range from road conditions to local services to anything else affecting daily life in Milford.
Series has produced follow-up coverage
The "Let's Talk" series is part of WCPO's "Finding Solutions" journalism initiative. Previous stops in Alexandria, Kentucky, and Anderson Township led to follow-up news stories on issues residents raised, including traffic congestion, potholes, a proposed natural gas pipeline, ADA parking problems, water access, and an I-275 bottleneck, according to the station.
That track record is the pitch for Milford residents to show up: concerns raised at these events have translated into on-air reporting that put pressure on local officials to respond.
Whitsett has anchored the community engagement effort since joining WCPO in 2020.
