The Milford Community Fire Department will hold a public memorial at its headquarters on Sept. 11. The ceremony marks 25 years since the 2001 terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people, including 343 New York City firefighters.

The service begins at 9 a.m. at the department's memorial site, 687 U.S. 50 East in Milford, the Clermont Guardian reported. The city of Milford's calendar lists the gathering as an annual remembrance ceremony.

Ahead of the anniversary, the department shared photos on Facebook of Lt. Baird and Firefighter Rose wearing specially designed uniform T-shirts. The shirts feature the date "9.11.01," a kneeling firefighter silhouette, a Twin Towers skyline and the phrase "We Will Never Forget." A badge on the design bears the number 343, representing the FDNY firefighters who died at the World Trade Center.
