Sycamore Township declared a storm damage emergency Monday, July 20, after strong storms struck the area Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18. Residents who suffered storm damage have until 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, to report it and qualify for free debris pickup.
The deadline is firm. This is not a township-wide collection.
Residents must call 513-791-8447 or complete an online request form on the township's website by the Wednesday morning cutoff. Those whose debris isn't yet at the curb should still report by the deadline, then call back when it's ready. The township said it will allow two weeks from July 22 for residents to get material to the curb.
How to prepare debris
The township asks residents to place storm debris unbagged at the curb with the cut sides of branches facing the street. Do not mix debris with leaves.
Free brush chipping on August 1
For residents who miss the Wednesday deadline or prefer to handle cleanup themselves, Sycamore Township will offer free brush chipping on Saturday, August 1, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The drop-off location is the parking lot behind the Township Administration Building at 8540 Kenwood Road.
Why this matters for Symmes Township and Loveland residents
Sycamore Township borders Symmes Township to the north and shares the Kenwood Road corridor. The July 17–18 storms moved through the broader Hamilton County area, and the emergency declaration applies only to Sycamore Township residents. Symmes Township and Loveland residents who experienced damage should contact their own local government offices for cleanup options.
A regular Sycamore Township Trustee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, at 6 p.m. at 8540 Kenwood Road.
