Milford sophomore quarterback Aiden Wehrum won the WLWT Primetime Performer fan vote for Week 2 of the high school football season.

The award caps a breakout week for Wehrum, who threw five touchdown passes and ran for a sixth in his first career varsity start. It was his first game under center for the Eagles.

Milford routed Walnut Hills 47-7 on Aug. 28 in the Eagles' Eastern Cincinnati Conference opener. Wehrum completed 17 of 22 passes for 340 yards and accounted for 374 total yards and six touchdowns on the night, according to a previous report of ours. He added eight carries on the ground.

His six touchdowns were the most by a Milford quarterback since October 2022, according to the Milford Athletics website.

The school's official X account captured the mood during the game:

Wehrum edged four other nominees in the fan poll: Campbell County quarterback Xander Guy, Mason quarterback Alex Nagel, Deer Park defensive back Morgan Brown and CHCA linebacker Owen Clary. Voting closed at 2 p.m. Sept. 1.

The Milford Athletics account urged fans to vote before the deadline:

The account posted that appeal on X on Sept. 1. Wehrum won the fan vote later that day.

The Primetime Performer nod adds to a growing list of honors. Wehrum was named an ECC Athlete of the Week alongside teammates Nolan Burch and Joey Dahmer, as we reported Aug. 31.

He is also nominated for a Cincinnati Enquirer weekly award. That vote is open through 4 p.m. Sept. 4.
